The two most useful minutes before you dial (858) 947-1121 are spent standing at the appliance. On a Sub-Zero built-in the data plate is inside the fresh food compartment near the top, or on the chassis behind the lower grille; on a Wolf range it is on the frame behind the door. Read that string out along with which compartment is wrong, roughly when it started, and any code showing on the panel. Common Sub-Zero components ride on the service vehicle, and the model number is what decides whether the one your unit needs is already among them.

Say what kind of building it is, too, because in Pacific Beach that changes the visit more than it would inland. A beachfront or Crown Point condo means an elevator, a loading zone and whatever service window the association sets. A cottage off Mission Boulevard usually means the kitchen is reached from the alley rather than the street, which is where we would rather work than block Mission on a July Saturday. A Sail Bay house with an outdoor kitchen means the ice maker or the beverage center is set into a bar wall, and knowing that in advance puts the right outdoor hardware on board.
